That is odd. Especially the two PA colleges, which are pretty well-established and regarded liberal arts schools. Grew up in NoVa and definitely heard of both back in high school decades ago through today!

Denison has the highest enrollment of the three. Roughly 2400 vs ~2200 for the other two.

Dickinson is basically just another LAC. Likes to emphasize its study abroad programs. Fairly easy academics. Years ago, it felt very small due to having just one dining area where one would see the same faces every day. Not sure, but I think that Dickinson received so many complaints about just one eating area that it added another snack bar type area.

Well, my DC is at Dickinson now and absolutely loves it. Sounds like you and your mom were just cut out for bigger schools.

my kid is at a regional LAC that is only known in certain circles - none of which frequent THIS board. I happily share the reasons why this school was the right fit for my child when asked, and friends will say "oh, wow-that does sound perfect for your child"

Yes, LACs are for a certain type of kid. I attended a school that was basically an LAC at 3600 kids at the time. I considered Dickinson and actually applied to F&M (also applied to Bucknell)

I loved being at a school with small classes and a lovely campus. I only had one class in a large lecture hall my whole 4 years, and that was the one science class for the kids who weren't pre-meds.
