I can’t believe this, but I agree with you. The interests of a private organization not under the control of an elected official should not have such a big role in public policy.
Saying that dcps teachers shouldn’t have collective bargaining is anti black. Just say you’re a white Supremacist fascist and go.
there’s nothing more racist than thinking black kids should have the same access to education as white kids!
Sweetie you know nothing, the teacher evaluation system is racist and admin often target black teachers.
Many of the school administrators and some of the principals are black though. Are they punishing black teachers? What about Hispanic teachers?

But it was still crass to see just how single-mindedly WTU fought any reasonable compromise to reopen. Tooth and nail, no matter how much families were suffering. That's just not a good look and it probably cost teachers quite a bit of goodwill for years to come.
This. Exactly this.
White families...many POC still want DL
They also never want to be vaccinated
With a long history of why.
Didn’t know there are good anti-vaxxers

It’s sad to see how women so quickly took up the rhetoric of the patriarchy. If the mayor had wanted schools open earlier, she would have prioritized schools over bars and restaurants and vaccinated teachers first, renovated schools, opened up excess buildings, and generally supported schools to open as quickly as possible. The science has evolved as we learned more - you can’t blame teachers for not trusting DCPS and not wanting to go back to an unventilated building pre-vaccination.

False argument.
No one said black kids shouldn’t have school. They said teachers shouldn’t die to make school happen.
But keep gaslighting vs raising your kid.

Anonymous wrote:Coronavirus levels in August were so low in DC that coronavirus was practically nonexistent. Every major medical association said it was safe for schools to reopen. So daycares opened. Private schools opened. Public schools almost everywhere outside the DMV opened. Bowser wanted public schools to reopen too but teachers refused to do their job because WTU saw an opportunity to turn the pandemic into an extended paid vacation, everyone else be damned. No one is going to forget what WTU did to their families.
