This is funny because my husband is really authentic and friendly with everybody and doesn’t have some kind of emotional wall with men like a lot of men do (for a lot of men friendship means doing activities with each other and not sharing feelings) and my husband gets hit on by gay men a ton. Why? Because in our messed up culture, emotional closeness = romance for men.

So yeah, sadly, the fact that a man has close, real emotional bonds with men is an indicator that he is gay. Of course it’s not definitive, as in the case with my husband, but it’s true.

It’s probably also because he is really fit and gay men tend to have high standards for fitness)

Working class men are not going on one-on-one hikes, unless they are hunting and even then usually it’s 3 or more.

Once a week? 50 yr old hetero male married 15 years with a gaggle of kids. I would have sex 3 times a week if I could; but DW limits us to once a week. I have to manage self care to keep from pestering her mid week.

If OP is looking for more frequent sex, and her DH at 40 is demurring, something is off (and I would guess he’s gay for my $.02).

Once per week is not “good” more like a minimum amount for survival.

Most marriage counselors define 11 times per YEAR or fewer to be a “sexless marriage.”

Weekly sex is not abnormal - especially for dual income couples with kids who have been married for years.

As someone with a ton of gay friends... he sounds exactly like the kind of dude they hook up with on the DL on the weekends. And then the guy goes back to their GF. The "straight" men who hide it are disgusting IMO

On the other other hand, I’m probably the only Mormon on here and this guy’s behavior is typical of the dozens of the gay Mormon men I know. This is how people who have gay shame act.

Or rather, not atypical. It’s not like most are that way, but her description of him sounds unsuspicious to me.
