My mom died 6 months after my dad. I think it is true that some couples can't live without each other. That said, the Queen is tough. She'll make it to 100 and beyond.

It really isn’t a big deal. No one is going to mourn his death every year. More like, oh, PP died on this day.
I mean, UK resident here again. It might not be a big deal the world over but in the UK, he will definitely be mourned on this day for many years to come. It’s a big deal - all the news channels have cancelled their regularly scheduled programming, there will be 8 days of mourning, politicians (from Labour to Tory) are giving tributes, people are going to put flowers at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and Holyrood House... it’s a big thing.
I was responding to PP’s comment that it was insane. It is not. It is life. And life moves on.

Its going to be a massive deal next year - especially if he doesn't get a 'proper' funeral this year. I mean the Queen Mother's funeral had 200K mourners lining the road. In a normal time Phillip would have no less.
