Maybe this young woman, despite her unfortunate choice of tiktok (which might be making her a famous future designer as we argue this) is exactly what test optional was supposed to permit?

And before you jump on the tiktok quote, remember that all the beat poets got famous because one of their buddies murdered a stalker. Yes, Burroughs, Keroac, Ginsburg.... all geniuses but got their break by "no publicity is bad publicity". So maybe she is smarter than we give her credit for here.

PS: the guy who committed the murder is the father of Caleb Carr who wrote "The Alienist".

I haven't seen the tiktok and have no opinion on whether she is qualified. Let's assume she is - in a test-required scenario, the admission committee can choose to overlook a low score. In prior years, they did overlook low scores for some portion (the lower 10%, say?), just not for the whole class.

My kid does an international sport as Team USA and went in with 1530 SAT. Rejected from four ivies. Who knows what it takes?
