Tell us why this is important.
I think it's some sort of sociological experiment to see if anyone includes a lawyer as being among their closest friends.
DP. I think it's a question if people tend to have friends outside of related/tangential fields, e.g. do STEM folks only hang out with other STEM folks, lawyers with lawyers or lobbyists, SAHP with other SAHP, etc. or do people have friends that cross discipline/lifestyles.
I posted upthread. I am a SAHM and hang out with parents of preschoolers.
Who you hang out with also depends on your age, marital status, kids, etc.
I used to work in finance in NYC. I hung out with friends from grad school and other young professionals. My friends mostly worked in finance in Manhattan.
When I was in college and grad school in Boston, I hung out with fellow students who were in various areas of study - business, law, med, PhDs.
I now live in the suburbs of DC with 3 kids. I hang out with other parents who have young kids. I see people mostly who have kids my kids are also friends with.
DH is a physician. Most of his friends are in medicine or medical device reps. Or the husbands of my friends or my kids’ friends’ parents.
