I'm going to be the last group. I am not white. All I am saying is that if MoCo wants to open up faster then they need to achieve herd immunity faster. As I stated above, you do that in two ways: 1. vaccinate as many people as possible 2. infect as many people as possible.

Moco and the word "efficient' don't belong in the same sentence.

I believe you’re in the minority with this train of thought. I would argue they have been extremely slow and inefficient for the roll out. There are still many elderly people we’re still waiting for the county to contact them.

It's not a "train of thought" it's data presented weekly at the County Council sessions. They are administering the doses they receive from the state. They aren't sitting on doses for the sake of equity. Claiming that they are, with no evidence, is frankly disgusting.

This is incorrect. Other counties are also setting aside vaccines for priority groups, but the bigger issue is that the lack of a mass vaccination site makes it really difficult for people, especially vulnerable communities, to access the vaccine.

By putting the vaccine in 100 different pharmacies rather than pharmacies + mass vax site, Hogan ensured that the only folks getting vaccinated in MoCo were either those with the resources to drive 40 miles or those with endless time on their hands to check Walgreens websites.

Hogan is the only Republican I vote for. It's a good balance to the far-left politics in MoCo. It was Hogan that nudged MCPS to finally start reopening. The mass vax sites are pretty well run from what I've heard (my parents went there). It's not perfect, but imagine if Elrich was governor -- we'd be way behind since the guy can't lead or make tough decisions at all.

I agree that if Elrich were governor, we'd be dead last in vaccine rollout. He'd be too concerned with equity to rollout the vaccine efficiently which would actually hurt all MD even more.

The only way to get back to normal is by achieving herd immunity which can be achieved in two ways:
1. get as many people vaccinated as possible, irrespectve of income, race, gender, politics
2. get as many people infected with covid as possible, irrespectve of income, race, gender, politics

Right now, MoCo is not able to do #1, so I guess we'll be the last to get back to normal.

Sounds like you were stuck on I-495, which Hogan wants to expand but Elrich vehemently opposes (his solution is for people to use the ICC instead, I'm not kidding).

Unfortunately he knows that there are a lot of low information voters in Montgomery County who will travel to Six Flags and then blame MoCo because they couldn't get an appointment through the County's health department, when it was the GOVERNOR who allocated most of the doses to mass vax sites and didn't put one in the largest county with the oldest population and the most deaths.
