See reply to previous poster concerning Mayo Clinic. Again, there are ZERO studies listed in this link showing any evidence of COVID being spread at playgrounds. I’m not saying that it is NOT, but neither of these links prove that it IS. Saying “the Mayo Clinic says it can be spread at playgrounds” or “the CDC says it can be spread at playgrounds” is not materially different than saying “CNN says it can be spread at playgrounds” or Fox News saying it CANNOT be! Unless and until the Mayo Clinic and the CDC link to the studies showing this is happening (and it’s been a year, plenty of data available) I am inclined to treat this as little more than CYA on their part.

Did you read the link you posted. Mayo Clinic put it in high risk category WITH ZERO SOURCES listed. I believe this may count as an “appeal to authority “ logical fallacy on your part. Where is the EVIDENCE of COVID being spread on playgrounds?

Unless your child is extremely high risk for some reason, I think it's too strict, and more importantly, illogical. Unless the kids are crowding around your kid all the time, there is no serious risk to having other kids on the playground without masks. Maybe I would avoid things like tunnels, merry-go-rounds, those climb-on structures if filled with a group of maskless kids, but in general just having them on the playground or running past your kids once in a while is not known to be risky.

European CDC is much more reasonable on the small amount of certainty about masking.

Many countries require masks outdoors per the European CDC recommendation.

So teach your child to wear the mask properly.

Outdoor is not magic. Sure, don’t mask up on an empty street, but wear a mask on a playground. It’s common sense.
