I’m just going to say that the point of AP classes is or should be to reduce the number of college classes that students pay (a lot) for.

Due to APs (and dual enrollment), DD is able to graduate with a bachelors degree in three years but will stay the 4th and work on a masters degree. This will save her/us a lot of money.

Everyone should have this opportunity and the classes should be well-taught. We are thinking about this the wrong way.

I only skimmed this but Calculus and Statistics are listed for upper level math classes. I am not sure the problem with offering more focused options for the half credit courses.

They should just let whichever kids into whichever courses they want as long as they satisfy the prerequisites, but then have VERY strict standards with absolutely no accommodations or leniency for whatever disabilities or racial excuses they want to come up with.

Basically say we discriminate against nobody, but here is the course list, here are the requirements, anyone is welcome to try any course as long as you passed the one before it. If we need to bus you somewhere then we'll do that.

And then see who wants to do what.

It’s actually a racist move. Calculus is an opportunity to develop good analytical skills necessary for STEM careers. If high schools eliminate it, the UMC/MC white and asian students will still learn them after school (or in privates) for a price, but many bright URM and low-SES students won’t. Think about it!
