Finally pulled the trigger on getting my closet done. Got estimates from Closet America, Elfa, Closet Factory and Closet Stretchers. Its a walk in, that used to have one bar with a shelf along the back wall. The process was fun (estimates ranged from $1500 to $5000, and every design was a little bit different). I changed out the boring light fixture for a chandelier, added a mirror, and all that is left is to pick a rug for the floor (so many options I cannot decide which one, but will soon). I love my new closet, and wish I had done this a long time ago. Also purged and donated a lot of clothes - feel great.

I’m the Miele vac PP. Dyson vacs are great for a year or two then turn into garbage. Ours stopped working with “max” suction and no longer picks up anything with regular suction. The Miele stick is newer to the market, so time will tell as to its reliability and longevity, but Miele is a generally better brand known for making quality appliances and products.

We got a Miele stick after our Dyson bit the dust. Worth the splurge and works almost as well as my Miele canister.

I bought this electric tea kettle with temperature presets and built in tea infuser. You can spend a whole lot more on one, but I can’t imagine it’s worth it unless you are just fixated on having the name Breville or whatever on your small appliances.

I use this nearly everyday for hot tea in the morning but also to make jugs of tea for iced tea. I’ve developed a big tea habit and also recommend Harney & Sons, a terrific New York based tea purveyor - their blueberry green tea is fantastic, but so are many of their varieties - every one I’ve tried, in fact.

I’ve been doing IF in pandemic lockdown and the teamaking ritual has become central to my adherence to daily fasting - I’ve lost 20lbs without much effort.

I really love the kettle, I had a regular one before but I’ve found such a remarkable difference in my tea being able to brew each type at exactly the right temperature- it really makes such a huge difference. Wish I’d known this years ago.

It's the Sesame Street designs. I actually only got Oscar The Grouch but they make me smile EVERY SINGLE TIME I wear them and even though we don't have a ton of money I can see I just have to order more. Huh? I looked at your link and the Oscar the Grouch socks are literally just striped socks. No relation to the muppet.

NP here. I agree that the Oscar ones are a little more minimalistic than some of the others, but the colors are exactly like the muppet. They are Oscar green, with a brown stripe that is the same color as his eyebrows and a large silver stripe that is like his trash can. I think they're quite clever. I had Oscar slippers when I was a kid (from JC Penney), I totally see where OP is coming from.

I gave in to various targeted ads and bought vuori joggers - they are extremely comfortable; Bombas socks - bought to see how much better they could possibly be and turns out that they are. I’m trying to ignore the revolting ad for some kind of ear cleaning stick with a camera in it, but knowing me I’ll end up buying it soon

Aerogarden - I am growing all different herbs in it. I use them mostly for cooking but the real reason I wanted it was because I was missing a restaurant I love going to every summer when I go back home to Europe, where at the end of the meal a waiter brings over a cart filled with herbs and then he snips off a few of your choice to make an infusion to drink. So now I make my own fresh herb infusions and it reminds me of this place.

It’s funny because entirely separate from this thread, I was chatting with a neighbor shout pandemic ourchases we were happy with, and we both said the Dyson stick almost simultaneously. Costco had a big sale and had them in a promotional location in the store so I think a lot of us picked them up on a impulse. It has definitely increased our vacuuming by a lot and even the kids use it. What I don’t like is that you have to hold the trigger down—i feel like it’s going to give me carpal tunnel.

I got me one of them double broilers finally!

For starters I got a cheap one on sale at Bed Bath.. for 20 bucks and see how it will work before I will invest in the one that cost 25 bucks!!!.
