Wow! Thanks for posting! This is the first I've heard. Crickets from the union so far today after we were assured we would be informed by email within 3 hours. Liz must have know last night when she sent out the email with the approved action and the call for the meeting today.
I hope this comes up today; she gets so many passes for epic mistakes she has made.

They haven’t tweeted that.
yes, they did. they just retweeted something saying exactly that.
They just retweeted Perry Stein’s article about racial disparities in the reopening plans. I know you need to feel angry and blame someone for the fact that you can’t handle your kids being at home, but it’s stupid to lie about things that we can all easily see are false.

Jeez you are grasping. Glad you don’t care about getting teachers vaccinated + 2 weeks for full immunity before sending them back into the classroom!
I’m not the one running WTU’s social media. Maybe they need to explain what they meant, because to me the clear meaning of that retweet is “schools are not safe even with teacher vaccination.”
But you seem perfectly happy to infer when it serves your needs! I’m sorry William and Caroline didn’t get the seats you believe they deserve at their Ward 3 elem for Term 3. Better luck with hybrid next year!
lol is WTU really this stupid about messaging?
Yes. Throughout this entire sh*tshow the thing I’ve found most fascinating is how truly awful the WTU talking points and messaging are. If they had even one competent PR person this would be going very differently for them. At least they’ve stopped telling their trolls to accuse parents of wanting in person school because they don’t like their kids or want to be around them. That was grade A bizarre when attempting to drum up support.

It’s odd that parents on this forum think this. They have tons of parent support, just less from white ones or the more wealthy ones.
Actually true. 6 parents forwarded their emails to me about my kids’ school reopening plan. They felt that the plan was not safe and cited sealed windows, broken hvac, the neighborhood being a major hotspot with many kids invited to come back that actually have parents with covid right now (coughing in the background). One parent forwarded her email which was in Spanish asking why she has to send her son back because she felt it wasn’t safe -she is clearly confused but has not even heard back yet!!!
This forum is such a departure from the reality for the majority of parents in DCPS. However it is true the loud wealthy white parents with extra time complain the most and tend to be the only voice heard. I’m tired of white folks speaking for our black families and don’t even listen to the black parents in their class. They dominate conversations and complain.
Our families have been impacted by covid and yours haven’t in the same way.
I strongly am against a plan that cries virtual learning for 75% of DCPS and accommodates whinny white parents.
Sorry not for a plan the cripples distance learning for 75%
how does this plan “cripple distance learning”? In my child’s grade, DL class sizes are going from 20 to 25. Maybe this will force teachers to become better at DL (which they should have been all along.) No more rambling “morning meetings.”

This has turned twighlight zone crazy. School should open 5 days after teachers fully vaccinated.
