DP. So why can’t it pas now? Ohhhh wait. Mitch. There’s no reason the number had to get smaller other than absolute vindictiveness cruelty and apathy. She said no because of the corporate liability shield, so the number got smaller and smaller until she would be forced to accept it to get crumbs. It’s sick.

She knew what Mitch was from the get go. If he could go smaller he would. She should have accepted the $1.8T. Pelosi yelled and screeched 'it wasn't enough, we need to CRUSH the virus.' How's that crushing going for you? People are starving, its snowing in half the U.S. now with families facing evictions, and we're averaging 3,000+ deaths a day now.

Not really. No relief bill passed the Senate or received a floor vote. Mitch wasn't sure he could get his own caucus to agree on anything. It wasn't clear that even the 1.8T would pass the Senate.

Its Nancy's fault because Mitch is too evil to actually help citizens without trading for corporate interests? What kind of misogynist gaslighting is this??

Not everything is misogyny. I would say the same thing about a male House leader. KNOW WHEN TO FOLD YOUR CARDS. She had a winning hand for the American people most effected by this crisis and she held it back for a gamble. A gamble she lost. Now there's no solution pending. And she's been doing this since July. Always 'CRUSH THE VIRUS'. Never compromise.

Hello clown. You don't get everything you want during a negotiation. That's why it is a negotiation. Pelosi and the Dems literally got everything they wanted in the $1.8T offer. So what if they have to give some in terms of liability shields. YOU DO NOT GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT. They should have just signed the damn thing and moved on. Who cares about a liability shield? It would have only been in place for a few months now that the vaccine is rolling out. As usual, Pelosi overplayed her hand and it backfired. Americans could have gotten relief a long time ago and the Dems would have basically gotten everything they're asking for.

Sooo, I’m right. Mitch wants to give as little as possible to help struggling Americans. Got it. I don’t disagree that Dems underestimate the other side, I just think the American people overestimate them.

Its calculated based on an average nationwide minimum wage of $7.25/hr and a 40-hour workweek. One single adult would make $1,200/month based on that total. I don't think it was ever supposed to be more than a top-off for individuals to buy lockdown supplies at the beginning of the crisis.

Thank you for answering.

Citizens should be ashamed to have elected this group of people to Congess. This is really heartbreaking.

Citizens should be ashamed for not voting in a roster of Senate Democrats in last month. Republicans have been holding this crazy line since summer - if you voted for any of these assholes you are the problem.

There were amazing Democrats on the ballot in 2020 - all of whom lost - Sara Gideon against Susan Collins (ME), Theresa Greenfield against Joni Ernst (IO), Steve Bullock against Steve Daines (MT), Al Gross vs Dan Sullivan (AL), Lindsey Graham against Jaime Harrison (SC), John Corryn and MJ Hegar (TX), Thom Tillis vs Cal Cunningham (NC) and Amy McGrath vs Mitch McConnell (KY).

Post 12/11/2020 05:21     Subject: Re:Covid Relief Bill thread

Summary: AOC says she wants a stimulus check added in, Bernie brought an Amendment to the floor today to vote on a full $1.2K check, and she supports the Problem Solvers bill (even though its problematic) as long as they can add the stimulus checks. But it also sounds like no matter what she is determined to get something passed before Congress recesses for Xmas.

Also its not clear on what Bernie's Senate Amendment is a amendment to. That placeholder action McConnell put up months ago in anticipation of a vote?
