Here's a vid of a HS student getting rejected from Emory EARLY DECISION 1. Yet got into Umich REGULAR DECISION with scholarship.
Umich is a glorified commuter school and is not prestigious. Parents at my prep school would be irate if there children only got into Umich after paying thousands for private high school education. Umich is not on Emory's teir in well connect and high value circles. Us news has proven that for over 20 years. Get over it!!
When did we jump from comparing Engineering programs (and other programs/metrics) to connections? Stick to the topic. Emory is NOT an engineering school.

Sure. By that logic, Oberlin, William and Mary, Williams, Georgetown and American University also offer engineering.

It’s a tough program and weeds out a lot of kids, (end up as psych or nbb majors). the ones I knew who stuck it out were brilliant and had access to strong internships.
It’s a great school but also crazy expensive.
Strange that relatives of mechanical engineers feel qualified to speak on this.
Also strange how many people are having conversations with their relatives/friends/etc. about non-existent engineering departments.
As a recruiter for big tech I beg to differ. We target Emory b/c of the quality engineers they produce, and de-prioritize places like Michigan where it seems the candidates aren't very well prepared.

Did you read the other posts? Let me summarize for ya!
- ALL departments at UMich are ranked higher than Emory
- The AVERAGE GPA of freshman at Umich is HIGHER than at Emory
- The average starting salary of graduates at UMich is HIGHER that at Emory
- Some Umich departments get you over 90K in starting salary; None at Emory (if you find this data share)
Not sure what "outcomes" you are talking about? Finding a rich husband?
Umich isn't prestigious.
Emory has higher test scores (1390-1510 I believe)
The difference in salary is due to engineering which Emory doesn't have. If Umich engineers are making 90k and the avg is 64k, that means the other grads are making 40-50k. Thus Emory grad are actually doing better at 60k, because that's an apples to apples comparison.
Emory is better for health sciences, creative writing, neuroscience, and a host of others.

Michigan business graduates also ahead of Emory for starting salary - $78k base vs. $69k. I would say top employers for Michigan business grads more impressive than Emory-
