MLS league would be great

Why would a MLS league be great?

Are the FCV GA teams good enough to play MLS League?

A good coach sells you on yourself. When you and I falter, doubt, forget, or back away from our brilliance, it’s the coach’s job to challenge, show us what’s possible and sell us on our potential, often reflecting our own words back to us. They show us who we really are, what we truly can achieve. They also allow us our failures, which are inevitable, and help us tease out of the detritus those essential learnings that buoy us when we occasionally hit bottom.

This is why the best athletes in the world have the best coaches. Some of the people who win the race, get the gold and master the podium are the ones who believed in themselves. They aren’t always those with the most talent.

Truly good coaches spend most of their time questioning, challenging and listening very carefully. Managers can train, tell and mentor. However the best coaches work hard to get us to tell the truth about our dreams, then work tirelessly to peel back all the layers of our excuses, our whining, our resistance to becoming all we can be. It’s his job to believe unequivocally in his clients. Very few of us have this experience, which is why vast numbers of us never realize our potential.

This is also why coaching- the best of coaching at least- is a very high-level skill.

Coaches don’t owe anything.

Explains everything. A high quality coach would never have this mentality.

What do they owe

Read again what you wrote

"Coaches owe you nothing, the club owes you nothing, the team owes you nothing. Why? because you are using them just as much as they are using you."

If they dont owe me anything, then why do I pay?

Back to the thread’s purpose. FCV should not be back in the ECNL as they are a one trick (girls elite U15 and over) pony and slowly fading into a mediocre club as those left over DA elite girls age out. In three years they will be equivalent to ODFC and VAR.

Did your kid not make fcv or get beat bad by them? You clearly have axe to grind but nothing substantial to offer except hoping to see the demise of a club that threatens you. Very sad.

Nope, kid played high level at FCV but we didn’t like the club, got offered a DA slot, but we moved on. Seen the inner workings of the club. Very myopic human beings running that club. They dishonestly focus on one gender and just the elite. Becoming very boutique at the expense of all the other sucker parents. Being boutique is ok, but just be honest about it. You can see the future there and it is not bright outside of the GA girls teams. The arrogance of many posters on this forum irk me, so it gives me pleasure to point this out. Then again, the posters here are likely a parent of an elite kid, so they figured they have it made and screw all the other suckers. I saw teams of kids that were rec level (at best) be put on an FCV travel team, pay their fees, and end up getting coached by a parent instead of the pro coach, and have their playing time usurped by the A team guest players almost every game. Classic bait and switch. Instead, just have the GA girls teams and disband all other teams and let those kids play for clubs where the coaches care about them and their development and enjoyment of the game, vs. promising one thing and delivering another. It’s kind of sickening what they do over there if you’re not part of the elite team, and my kid was part of the elite. Ethics made us move her to another club.

Not sure the future is so bright for their GA teams either.[/

Honestly, that is at ever club. I am not sure why people don't get this main fact. Soon enough if you are lucky your child will be offered a D1 scholarship but many wont even make it until then. Youth soccer is just to build your resume, it mans almost nothing and all these issues will be a distant memory in years to come, you might even et embarrassed with how you acted as a PP. Some words of advice, Enjoying everything and stay away from the negative even when your team sucks. Always be your Childs best advocate and understand Coaches owe you nothing, the club owes you nothing, the team owes you nothing. Why? because you are using them just as much as they are using you. It is a business. If you don't like how the business is being ran go elsewhere. Build your Childs resume by advocating for them. Hopefully they will have fun and build a great character that will hopefully afford them many successes in the future. If nothing else, it will keep them out of trouble. Simply put, just relax its youth soccer.

So sound stupid. Honestly. This is pay to play. You are paying for a service. They do owe you and every paying customer a professional product. So get off your soap box on a soccer forum

Hit a nerve hu? You are paying to play soccer against other clubs and for the coach to teach you everything they can. Does your kid get to go to practice, and games? then that's all they owe you. If that's not happening get our money back and leave, write a complaint and move on. You have a choice to not stay and deal with it. Like it or not that's what happens time and time again, and most times when a child does leave for good reasons they find themselves at a better club with like views that gives them the opportunities they work for.
