What's so hard to believe about this woman trying to stop Jellig from leaving because she, and everyone else there, wants an explanation? I don't think it's particularly unreasonable for someone to want answers about this situation, and Jerry Jellig (the man in the car) would most likely know what happened, as he is the superintendent that oversaw SWW. Are peaceful protestors not allowed to question government officials?

Matter is hush hush at central but rumors flying around central office are that it has to do with his push back to reopening Francis Stevens. The mayor has decided that schools have to reopen no matter what. No dissent tolerated.

People have no idea what goes on at the HS in terms of leadership. And there have been shady things going on with kids admitted late to the school for years. There are a range of feelings towards Walls leadership.
That being said, the timing of this is terrible.
What shady stuff was going on? If DCPS discovered something, they should share it. Weird they would keep renewing his contract year after year. Was the shady stuff just discovered?

The black chancellor was fired only because NBC4 exposed the cover-up behind it. He also was fired for breaking a rule he himself had written and very publicly said there would be zero tolerance for violations.

Here’s a newsflash for you:
1. Every single principal in DCPS at one point or another breaks one or more of many many laws, whether it be intentional or not. The DCMR is chalked full of regulations and laws. Central office cherry picks when to enforce the breaking of said laws, and some principals over the years have been naive to the actual level of protection they have from said cult of personality when favor shifts against them.
2. Whichever reason that will be promoted for the SWW principal being fired , be VERY CLEAR that the REAL reason he got cancelled was his vocal pushback against the reopening plans of the Mayor and Chancellor. Be clear.

Kim Martin doesn’t know any of my kids or their friends. They joke about whether they have a principal because they never see her. She doesn’t know our family even though I try to volunteer sometimes
Not exactly a valid comparison. Wilson has 1800 students, SWW has 600 students. Completely different situations in terms of staff to student interactions. I think SWW talks up the close connections.
He has way more than 600 students given that he also was in charge of Francis Stevens. I don’t know him very well at all but his one saving grace was hiring competent people under him. Wilson, OTH, APs and Academy Directors are mostly all incompetent.
