Only season 1 & 2 were good sadly. Season 3 was so awful and season 4 looks like crap too. I adore the Johnny character, and it’s the only reason I tune in. Daniel LaRusso and his silly wife and silly daughter make me cringe in every single scene.

I’m only two episodes in and it feels like I’m watching a Nickelodeon or Disney sitcom. Will it get better or am I stuck with MS and HS storylines until the finale? The first season did a great job with Johnny’s character arc. I think we’ve jumped the shark this season.

We have just the last 2 episodes left. Yeah, this season is a little meh, but still enjoyable.

Your 12 yo isn't in middle school??? Mine was hearing this stuff by 6th grade. At school.


We watch with our 13yo and he has not heard these terms before.


My 5th & 7th grade daughters love cobra kai. I appreciate that there are no sex scenes to fast forward through. I personally have no issue with language. Handjob/blowjob- my kids have no idea what this stuff is, and it goes right over their sweet innocent heads. At some point, a human being learns these words, probably from friends.


Unless they live in a cave and you homeschool, they know those terms.


My innocent 8th grader doesn't have a clue about those terms.

Yep. He's an amazing character, and Zabka is a much better actor than Macchio! (no shade to him ... he just made it easy to root for Johnny!)


Yes the difference in character work makes a huge difference and Macchio's toupee is sooo distracting!

But of course Miyagi karate is the ideal and I suspect Johnny will come around to that (haven't finished the season). And now that he's the underdog and trying so hard, of course it's natural to root for him.
