I can't imagine all this is over admissions to UVA. Its a good school, but students attending TJ should be aiming higher than UVA. Kids from far "lesser" schools in northern VA can get into UVA.

You're missing the point. Asians don't have problems with Blacks and Hispanics at TJ. Some people (some of which are Asian) have a problem with lowering admissions standards in the name of diversity. So, it's not the diversity that is objectionable (as I'd bet that most consider it preferable), it's the lower standards that is objectionable because that would eventually affect the rigor of the school. I hope you can see the difference.

It seems like there's a strong preference on the part of many Asians towards retaining "standards" that primarily inure to their benefit and to the detriment of others. At some point one can fairly question their commitment to the larger society, whose success hinges on opportunities for all. TJHHST isn't progressive in any sense; rather, it's "trickle-down education" writ large.
There is nothing about the entrance standards and requirements that favors Asians. It’s about advanced science and technology readiness and demonstrated ability. Yes, the county should work to ensure access to materials that may help in preparing for the test, but that is quite a separate issue. and as far as referring to Asian people as drones, well, I can’t even.

repeat after me for the bottom half of TJ, admissions are actually better at your base school (assuming your kid would be top 5-10% class rank wise)
the whole go to TJ for better college admissions is total bs. It's actually harder, unless your kid is really top 1% in the whole area and is going to be top 10% in their class at TJ
Not many students go to TJ to game college admissions.

True. There are no Asians on the tj admissions committees although there are blacks on these committees.

See, everyone, this is the real issue. This is a crusade AGAINST Asians, not FOR underrepresented minorities.
I'm beginning to notice that there is this one poster (maybe more) who really has it out for Asians and TJ, and posts about it on numerous threads. (S)he really has a lot of hate in her/his heart and seems to be on a crusade to badmouth asians and shut down tj. It amazes me how much time (s)he devotes to this. It makes me wonder what happened to him/her that caused all of the hate and bitterness.
