Private school teachers are not. Good luck. You will see in the coming weeks. Fire us all. Nobody wants to get sick or die because you feel
Like you paid for in person school regardless of a global pandemic. Admin not telling you about the teacher meetings. As more and more schools close do you think Dc private school teachers will go back? Good luck with the janitor leading your cohort/pod this fall.
Anonymous wrote:LOL, you private school parents who thought they would open must feel stupid now! We are all on the same sinking boat.

What's your evidence? My kids and their friends at privates all want school to be in-person.

This is tangential to the thread but is this what in person school will be like for HS students? What would the point be and why wouldn't teachers come in if students are coming in?

There are no fewer than 30 threads on this forum ...of parents... begging for Info on how they can possibly get into Private School
where there is ample space, millions to pour into cleaning, Big screens in class so teachers at home can Zoom teach while teens are gathered, etc...
These schools are in demand and they AREN'T closing
The Mayor of DC wont even close Indoor dining where THOUSANDS of DC residents gather every day for hours with MASKS OFF
The MD Gov wont even close the bars at the MD Beach towns,,,,,where they are packing them in ALL WITHOUT A MASK
The VA Gov refuses to ban Indoor Dining despite VA Beach's ICU's being packed
Close the Bars first/ ban the Indoor Dining first,.... wait a Month and if it isn't better than come back one here
But the schools have been CLOSED since March and THEY are NOT the problem
So much disinformation in this post, particularly the bolded. That may be true for a very small handful of schools, but I assure you private schools do not have millions to spend on this crisis as a whole, let alone cleaning. And most are not opening. Also the implication in the last sentence: are you suggesting that because schools haven't been the cause of spread while closed, that when they do open they will not be a cause of spread either? Total nonsense.

The directive is no school - but bars and gyms and protestors - please continue to go about your activities.
Yes, having in person school for only the rich people who can afford to be involved in and supplement their kids' learning regardless is such an equalizer.
You really need to direct your anger to the federal level. The lack of readily available rapid testing and PPE is a huge, huge barrier to opening schools. And we have leaders who have purposely tried to prevent access to tests and PPE. Local governments cannot do this by themselves. Our country is being destroyed from the top.
Yep, exactly. Either ALL kids go back to school, or NO kids go back to school. This is a public health issue, not a public/private school issue. It’s either safe for all, or unsafe for all, just like restaurants/bars/stores/etc.
+1 If AU, and Georgetown, and GWU can do it, so can the K-12 private schools.
