Nope. Just like you can’t blame Trump for Covid, you can’t give Janet Mills credit for Maine’s situation.
Maine is 35K square miles and has a population of 1.3 million. Maine has a population density of 41 people per square mile.
Maryland has a population density of 594 people per square mile. And Maryland is way more diverse.
Population density makes a huge difference in the spread of Covid.
Like in Arizona, for example, which has a population density of 45 people per square mile.
No, wait...
China is 400 per square mile. How is it not surging all over their entire country. Hmmmmm
We have no idea what is going on in China. No clue.
They did open schools in some areas, but then had to close them back down soon after.
They opened all of their schools and closed a few temporarily. But.. if you are going to get picky, how about Germany? 623 per square mile. I mean, I can go all day here
NP here.... crickets. Lol
But but but......![]()

Most interesting is this:
"Approximately half of the district’s 3,000 employees have responded to a survey asking for their comments, and 78 percent of the respondents have indicated a willingness to return to school, he said"
So 78 percent of staff there are willing to go back to school, compared to only 25% of MCPS staff.
I wouldn't count on this happening with any surety. Could it? Yes, but Berkeley County has the second-highest number of covid cases in the state (Monongalia County, home of WVU, is first). The governor has indicated it will be a county-by-county decision and any schools opening in person will be after Labor Day. WV was one of the first states to shut down all in-person learning this spring. Lots of older folks, multi-generational households and poor health indicators compared to much of the country. I think all this will be taken into consideration.

Uh, delusional... table for one?
Facts, we deal in facts.
You mentioned "the rest of the world" ok, so where?
Name all of the countries that are starting in school, in person, on the first day of schul.
If you you can't/won't, it will confirm for us what we already know... that you're a fool who makes broad blanket statements in hopes of sounding believable, but you can't back up your claim.

Every where like where??
Yeah, OP, where? Name a large metropolitan area.

Not all the relevant what they do out in the middle of nowhere since it's not exactly comparable.

Wow, that’s interesting.
Why such a difference, I wonder. Why are teachers more willing to go back to workin WV versus here in MCPS?
Does WV also have a female, Democrat governor?
