Slowly but surely the playgrounds in MoCo are reopening. I find fault with several aspects of how MoCo has handled the pandemic but this is not one of them.

Yeah, it does seem like Montgomery Parks should be able to get the fences down more quickly. But I do think most of the blame for the delay rests with Dr. Gayles, who didn't even get back to Montgomery Parks until the week after they were supposed to open.

I think it's kind of bonkers that fencing is still up around our local county playground, but we could go eat inside at a restaurant. Yikes! I get the need to support local restaurants (we've been ordering takeout throughout the pandemic) but prioritizing indoor activities over outdoor is so backwards to me given the current knowledge about the virus.

I think that's just old text that wasn't updated from before.

The new press release seems to say 50:

Is there a different rule in parks? Phase 2 says maximum of 50 gathering but on the link below, it says refrain from groups of 10 or more

I’m not saying Fairfax County was perfect through this whole thing but they had the parking barriers and the playground fencing down within days of their reopening announcements. Like 48 hours at most.
