Thinking of the classrooms at my kid’s school I don’t think they can fit even 10 students in and keep them 6 feet apart.
We have so many contact tracers because all DC govt employees were required to take the contact tracing training.

Which training made sure we are compliant with IDEA??? The 2 hour OSSE webinar where they told us to make a distance learning plan? That’s compliance?

They showed you on the survey. So at this point you are being dense for refusing to acknowledge what is right in front of your eyes and plan accordingly.
They have already committed to going hybrid for all of next year?
They are going to go hybrid until there is a vaccine. they made that explicit! They are just trying to figure out the hybrid model.

Yes, there's no laws against them doing hybrid for the foreseeable future. There is training being done to make sure we are compliant w/IDEA etc. as well.

NP. Yup. People really need to come to terms with this.
DP. I agree but there is definitely going to be hybrid learning this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if we are full distance learning by nov or dec

The most at risk teachers can head up DL for those who opt out.

How is a working parent supposed to arrange child care BUT only do that every other week ??? Or 3-3 days a week ?

Sounds like parents need a Rover.com for childcare...probably with bonded and insured 'alternate' nannies. You're going to have to pay a premium though. I imagine $25/hr for people to come by.
Which, of course, totally undermines the whole point of DL, as kids get exposed to a random rotation of caregivers and so the whole class gets exposed to more people than they otherwise would have. It’s insane.

NP. And I am expecting that as well. Starting hybrid, switching to full distance learning at some point.

Wtf? I think school will likely start as a hybrid. I’m responding to the multiple people who said the survey would answer the question of whether people wanted full time school accurately notwithstanding the fact that it wasn’t an option. Did you read the thread?

That is absolutely insane. What if there isn't a vaccine early next year like everybody seems to think? What if it takes more than a couple of months to get it widely administered?? The kids are screwed.
