Noted. The fact that Halle Berry (who is 53) could get a date anywhere, anytime she wanted does not change the fact that their are fewer single men than single women after 40.

There are thousands of beautiful women (of all colors) who are over 40 and in the NoVA area. No one can or should dispute this fact.

The first post replying to the OP on this subject simply pointed out that the OP (a married 28-year-old mother of three) should consider that if she brought up wanting to date her husband would likely have a material number of options to date as well. And that his options for dating would be much greater if they were divorced than in an open marriage.

The most material concern with the OP is that she talked about her DH's feelings only with a short "I am worried my husband will be upset" line and not with any realization that he might want out once he hears her bring this up. One poster has stated that the OP should determine what the OP wants to do and then do it. Okay - as long as she considers that her DH may not wait around for her to figure out what she wants to do.

I did not see the OP say that she did not like her marriage, only that she felt she missed out on dating. I know that if my DW brought up the fact she wanted to date she would not have the option of doing so while married to me and that I could like find women who would enjoy being with me quite readily.

Agree! My Dad was very nervous about dating again in his late 50’s and I just told him to be himself. He’s smart, fun, a good listener and a real gentleman. After his first couple of dates he said it was really easy and it didn’t take long for him to find a great companion.

I am mid-50s, divorced for about 5 years. Tall, professional, intellectual, thin. My inbox is full of likes from women, but 95 percent of them aren't worth the trouble--old (or too young), fat, losers, etc. Still, some in the remaining 5 percent can be decent, if they are sane (a few are).

Even with covid I've had sex with a couple of women this year (and made out with a couple more), and had more sex since January 1 than I did the last few years of the marriage. Women seem to run out of options at about age 45.

I’m a divorced mother of three and I’m not interested in a LTR. But I really enjoy spending time with guys who are conversationally stimulating about a wide range of subjects and can interject a lot of humor at various points. It is fantastic to spend a few hours completely disconnected from my day to day work Life and single mom routine. Add in physical attraction and after a couple of dates sex is definitely on my mind.
