The clean fast means no black coffee?
The clean fast means no cream or fake sweeteners. Sure they’re low or no calories, but it’s about triggering an insulin release. The brain recognizes food or fake sweeteners and causes an insulin release. That makes you crave more food and makes it harder for you to get through the rest of the fast. Plain sparkling water, green/black tea or black coffee are all fine.

Most evenings, you can find me in the kitchen shoveling ice cream into my mouth at 7:59.

I am also doing at least 10,000 steps a day. I take a walk every day alone with a podcast and it’s doing my mental health a lot of good too. I am not a huge breakfast person, so I am surviving fine with just coffee and cream. I am making an effort to drink loads of water too.
Drop the cream in the coffee if you want a clean fast and not spike insulin.
Counterpoint - if it's working for her and she's happy with the results, then she should continue doing what she's doing.
+1
I have coffee with a little milk every morning. “Spiking insulin” sounds alarming, but it isn’t a relevant factor in how I’m doing IF. Fasting 6pm to noon the next day with the exception of that morning coffee, with great results.
