The consensus was everyone would stay put. Remember there is the “non compete agreement” between clubs. So you could not leave if you wanted to leave. You are stuck at your club for the next year.

There is no such non-compete clause with Parents and players.

Not sure about the rest of them. I know the Arlington 08s will be extremely strong this year (whenever soccer starts back). Excellent recruits have come on board, a great coach and I think this team could be special!!!

You probably thought the same thing last year for Arlington 08's and then what happened? Did you even win ANY tournament? You can always sleep good knowing you beat those tough teams from CCL.

Who hurt you?

Holy dog sh*t this fool has been a clown all year and somehow the red/white team kids survived 😐

They will have Mo next year to save them. He will whip them into shape.

Have you all looked at the Mid-Atlantic Conference clubs? Arlington should have an easy time with it. Youth soccer ranking are what they are but Arlington Red is the highest ranked team in the new conference.

Should probably wait to see how many Arlington players return before proclaiming how great they’ll be.

Does MU have enough 07s and 06s that the 08s and 09s wont have to play up?

Yes, the partnerships have fixed the issue with lack of young player pipeline.

How is the issue fixed?

Because they have a player pool to work with and draw talent from.

There were a few Arlington girls looking a MU before the shut down and Arlington is closer to MU practice vs Stoddert or Potomac. It just seems like the younger ages 08 and 07 are not that excited about Mclean. What’s going on with that?

Well 2008’s now have Clyde as their primary coach. Many will stay for the exposure and all have been guaranteed spots. Cant argue with Clyde’s track record as the girls get toward high school no matter how much of an ASA booster you are.

I call BS on arlington giving outside offers at this point. Many area clubs agreed to not actively recruit from each other’s
rosters during the pandemic so arlington would be flying in the face of yhat...

If they signed an agreement not to compete among themselves that would be stupid because it most likely violates antitrust laws. Also you are forcing kids(who are in middle school and high school) to play for you. All it takes is one lawyer or a phone call to the state AG.

First this is a dumb comment above. And this discussion is also a dumb topic. Every team including ASA is courting top players. Just like when ASA has had tons of players coming to their practices to get a look. Anyone on DA at ASA saw that first hand. The changes in DA only make this more common. Also, players are reaching out to other clubs too. Anyone thinking that some “agreement” between clubs to not poach holds water is crazy. Just like the ECNL deal ASA had several years ago with Mclean that never worked because MYS kept getting their girls. If your kid is good, they have already got a call or a nudge from another club, or you have already reached out to other clubs. Take care of your kid and get them in the best spot for them.

Difference between actively recruiting and responding to proactive inquiries though....

Not sure it would be a good look for ASA to get caught bending the rules in their favor. ASA could argue a technicality (active vs. responding) but is it really worth it to piss off other clubs enough for them to blackball from ECNL in the future for a few 07/08 players. Probably not.

I thought ECNL offers were given out also? How is this all of a sudden an Arlington issue?

Every club has started giving out offers, soliciting interest from outside players, and responding to outside players. This always happens with the announcement of coaching slates. Three clubs have already reached out to us, and they all signed on to that meaningless agreement.
