The commitment to critical race theory is strong, as it is with most of the independent schools in this area. The Fox News piece highlighted just one event at SR, but there have been many others and will continue to be. Obviously Laura Ingraham has a contact within the community that shared the information with her.

I guess time will tell how this all plays out.

We love SR. Have a 6th grader new to school this year. She is doing ok but distance learning has been very hard and wish she could have gone FT sooner. It is a lovely school full of great parents, awesome tight knit community, caring teachers, beautiful campus and nice girls.

I would and have recommended to many. It does skew liberal and we are moderates but as of now, it is ok but hoping the focus remains on strong academics. It has a great reputation and the rep is deserved. My daughter is very proud of her school and that says a lot! New parents, don’t worry, you will be happy.

Similar situation here. Were you on the call they had last night for new students/parents in lower school? That gave me more confidence in our decision to move from MCPS to SR. The smaller class sizes will mean your DD gets more personal attention.

Fellow conservative parent and we LOVE him. He is wonderful. Not sure why his sexuality is being discussed here - it's not relevant to his job performance.

I’m a conservative but embarrassed by the homophobia here. Stone Ridge has many issues but the sexuality of the US head is not any of them. He’s a great guy and any school would be lucky to have him.

You sound like us a few years back. We moved our daughter from a highly regarded public to Stone Ridge lower school. The price tag feels shocking for that grade level, but if you can swing it, and you have already given public a shot and are disappointed, I am guessing you will be thrilled with Stone Ridge, as we have been. We also had wonderful teachers and a great community in public school but there's just no comparison to the personalized attention, nurturing environment, high expectations, and the positive culture of faith and values at Stone Ridge. Especially you think your daughter would thrive in a small, all-girls atmosphere. I think you have to trust your gut and you know if you're missing something. No school is perfect, and you have to weigh all the factors, but I highly recommend the lower school at Stone Ridge.
