So often we think it’s just trolls like the stupid smily-face poster, and we don’t think they’re worth our time. But OP stood up and said, hey, I’m Jewish and not otherwise a troll, and I’m going to ignore the feckless folk in my own faith and instead single out Catholics and the Pope."
Again, I posted that the Orthodox Jews should be ashamed of themselves if they don't stay home. I apologized for being wrong about the Pope.
My question was derived from the news articles about churches that have remained open. I know they aren't Catholic Churches, but I simply suggested the Pope--as an authority for millions of people--should issue guidance. I'm glad he did.
That's really it.
OK, but google really should have been your friend before you posted. The Catholic Church issued guidance as early as March 20, 2020, about how Easter is to be celebrated.
I've apologized several times. What more do you want?

The pope is only an authority for Catholics. Protestant, Orthodox, and other "quasi-Christian sects" (e.g. Mormon) do not consider him their leader. Evangelicals are the ones still holding services this Easter. Maybe because evangelical denominations are more independent than Catholics, non-evangelical protestants, etc. For most you dont need a degree to become a pastor just a calling.

Hey racist/anti-semite not the OP but yes they should stay home too. What makes you think OP thinks differently?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What part of “please stop” do you not understand?
OP and others, this one asshole is NOT representative of the rest of Catholics. In fact I doubt he is catholic at all. He certainly doesn’t behave as I was taught.
OP apologized for being wrong about the pope and that should do it.
PP you ARE extra sensitive to the point of being an obnoxious jerk and the criticism is warranted. You are repulsive.
You’re taking to multiple posters who think OP is repulsive, that she knew exactly what she was doing, and that she only apologized after there was no other out and she realized she was making Jews look bad.
But I’m done posting about OP.
No. Just you. Thanks for stopping.
Wrong. I am Christian but not Catholic and what I took away from the original OP was that she was singling out Catholics, which spoke volumes to me. I am glad she eventually apologized and hope she realizes that singling out the Pope when Google could have easily told her it is the southern Evangelicals that seem to be ignoring public health concerns are really the issue, suggested she had an ax to grind. Again, I'm not Catholic so don't even think to call me a "bad Catholic". I'm also not a bad Christian for having my opinion. I am extending grace to OP as others have done for me on several occasions, especially relevant on this holiest of days.
