But then he showed me those text screenshots of her calling me ugly and she said I needed a face transplant and was too skinny. I was like oof.

As a senior in college, I briefly dated a jock type who told me he usually dated pretty girls. I screwed him for a few weeks, then dumped him before grad school. He sent me pathetic IMs for years about how I broke his heart and he hadn’t never been with anyone else like me. I guess the pretty girls he dated hadn’t been any good in bed.

Eighth grade lunchtime in the cafeteria. Sat with two girls who I knew casually but was not really friends with. Hoped we could become friends. As soon as I sat down, one said to me, “Is that really your face or did your neck throw up?” Thirty years later I’m still not sure what her motivation was but damn did it hurt. I was completely humiliated.
