Yes quite difficult. I contributed the recovery of the 98 year old, which I think is one of the few posts that were actually about good news. I post frequently on the other thread and that was the only bit of news I have come across that I thought qualified for this one.

Despite 6+ weeks of spreading in Washington State and given the 1-2 week incubation period, we still aren't seeing droves of people being hospitalized there, so maybe it is already mutating to a less virulent form.

It's almost like you didn't read the article. It's the opposite of reassuring, unless you live in Singapore. There, they took aggressive measures at the outset (US has not). There, they have a top notch medical system (here, we have uninsured, underinsured, and a system that depends on China for drugs and PPE).

so China does play a big role in global warming. Who knew?

They are the worst offender. They have many coal-fueled power plants and are the major producer of cement, perhaps the worst industry for producing emissions.

For those of us with elderly loved ones and are also immunocompromised ourselves, it feels scary.

No perfect solution, but in ideal world if we had an island and take al vulnerable there to protect ..long before anYthing arrives, and bring them back safely after it goes away.. as this thing does not strong people, so death rate would be zero, and all could just ride it with no precautions of any kind.

Says if he had his symptoms without know what they were he’d likely have gone to work. Says it’s not as bad as the flu. He’s in quarantine but doing really well.

Why is this good news? It means that people with mild symptoms will go about business as usual and spread it to others instead of self-quarantine. I’m glad that he is doing well but this is exactly what we should be terrified about.

NP. This is what I just don't get about the hysteria--a man with it said it was like a cold. Why should I be terrified of a cold by a different name?
