Nah. STA has nothing to hide. They have a good program. My guess is maybe some of the parents you’re talking about are moving it.

Public v Private is another topic and does not fit under the heading STA lacrosse. The point made was that STA parents are wasting time if they think a kid will get recruited from a weaker lax program. I am simply pointing out that the club team would be where the recruiting activity would happen. How many top recruits did NOT play club? I will wait for the answer.

Did not say STA was lower academically, but their athletics (especially in lacrosse) are way lower. Finding the balance is what is important. High schools go to the recruiting tournaments also and it helps to be on a winning team or at least a competitive team. Why do you think people say public school kids don’t get committed as much as private school kids?

You do not make sense. We are talking about St Albans which is in no way below Prep in academics. However the college recruiter does not care about the HS team record as much as watching the player play in club team events and showcases

Says someone who clearly didn’t attend a top high school. Club teams are important, but so are top high school lax programs. If you have both and top notch academics then you are winning. A recruiter once said he loves to recruit boys from Prep because they have been through an excellent athletic program and really strong academics. He knows they will succeed on the field and in the classroom.

Their first mistake is thinking their son is going to get recruited to play lax in college from STA. Very few college commits for lax out of STA. If that is their focus then they should consider attending a school with a stronger lax program and better recruiting history. Just as a comparison STA currently has 1 commit on their varsity team vs Prep's 13, Gonzaga's 11, Bullis' 9, Landon's 7, Episcopal's 6, and SSSA's 5.

It did change on the website. Upperclassmen added back on and freshmen, while kept on varsity roster, added back to JV. What a mess.
Still not seeing the issue. The freshman will be allowed to practice on Varsity and actually hit the field in JV games.
Totally agree. The issue is the Helicopter moms who think their snowflake is the next BFD commit who must make varsity freshman year or their lax recruitment is over. H might not be able to handle these wenches but Smooth C knows the drilll.

No shame in getting schooled by WCAC finalist that was very young. How did STA do against The Heights? If they struggled against a weaker WCAC team, you know they are in trouble in tough IAC.
