On the one hand this information confirms to a larger audience the whistleblower's expertise in Ukrainian matters and politics; on the other this means people in the WH now know who he is based on that information. Given Trump's threatening language today about dealing with him and his sources, maybe he should go into the witness protection program until there's a new administration...
Or, this could be like the WaPo report yesterday that ADNI Maguire was planning to resign........
Sorry, not putting a lot of credibility on anything coming out in the media.
That's because you yourself aren't credible when you twist the WaPo report. It wasn't that he was "planning to resign," it was that he said he would resign if he didn't get to testify. How do you know that's wrong? I personally don't believe him when he says he didn't put it that way. Because no official in this administration is credible.

Maybe someone else will but I won’t. I’m appalled that the Times made this decision in the face of death threats by the President.

I believe Maguire said that’s unprecedented.
So what are the implications?
Well it's not normal, but the whistleblower complaint says "this was 'not the first time' under this Administration that a Presidential transcript
was placed into this codeword-level system solely for the purpose of protecting politically sensitive-rather than national security sensitive-information."
The implication is that there are other calls hidden from the intelligence community because they would be damaging to Trump rather than because they contain sensitive information.
Yeah, we’re going to have to see summaries of those calls, too.

“I want to know who’s the person, who’s the person who gave the whistle-blower the information? Because that’s close to a spy,” he continued. “You know what we used to do in the old days when we were smart? Right? The spies and treason, we used to handle it a little differently than we do now.”

But AD Maguire feels no compunction to provide protective cover for the whistleblower he oversees in his agency. Such a profile in courage /s
Let's see, the call "was not restricted in advance because everybody expected it would be a 'routine' call". But after the call all records are moved to the separate electronic system for highly sensitive information.
"Lordy, I hope there are tapes!"
Because it's easy enough to verify that the records were removed from the normal storage even if the secret storage is kept secret. Smoking. Gun.
Wish I weren't at work. And I have no idea how to find c-span or anything else on the break room tv (I don't have cable and only watch about 2 broadcast network shows).
