That said, why did Logan and Kendall have the tete-a-tete on the boat where Logan says Kendall is "not a killer?" That conversation was wholly unnecessary if Kendall and Logan were truly scheming as equal partners.

I think you're right about the call from the shareholders: Logan knew his time was up and would need to play out the chess match many moves ahead. He didn't know how it work until he met with the entire team. Logan then spent the entire trip purposely abusing and manipulating Kendall in order to build resentment: tells him that the Pierce girl is a druggie; humiliates Kendall by kicking the Pierce girl off the boat; and then further humiliates Kendall by forcing him to take the fall and saying he's "not a killer." He was psychologically abusing Kendall in order to convince Kendall to stab him in the back.

In the end, Kendall is being manipulated. But Logan needs Kendall to have plausible deniability to make this work.

It would make sense for Shiv to team with Ken against Logan — Logan was shutting her out and giving power instead to Roman as CEO, after promising everything to her. Otherwise would she REALLY have asked her dad to protect her husband, after she all but threw him under the bus in front of the larger group? She also seemed like she was pretending not to be able to make the hard decisions to me. She’s pretty ruthless and I think would for sure be able to make the decision to sacrifice her husband, especially when he seemed so unhappy with her, but I think she was pretending and playing into female stereotypes her father believes in.

I think he was being honest. I think he finally realized all the Roy crap- especially from his wife- made him unhappy and that he was questioning why he was so sucked into it. I loved her reaction- she realized that she loves him and was taking him for granted and pushing him more than she should.

I saw the glimmer of pleasure. He had told his son he didn't have what it took to be run the company because he didn't have the capability to "kill" and Kendal clearly showed that he was capable of being able to be ruthless.

I just rewatched the last 10 minutes 5x. At no point does Logan smile. I say this as someone who grew up with an Irish Da who never actually smiled but his eyes would sometimes show glee/joy. I saw none if that in Logan.

Ken’s Judas kiss on Logan’s cheek made me wonder if he was going to fight back. Amazing season finale!!

I don't think Logan would ever sell his kids out in that way. He'll emotionally abuse them and try to marginalize them but he doesn't actually want to ruin them. Look at the drugs, he could have used the drugs against Ken during the takeover but never did. He keeps it in the family.

I think he dared Ken to do it by saying be wasn't a shark and was at least a little proud to see him start to circle

Logan is too heavily involved in the cover-up of the entanglement of Kendall in the death - it would be like stabbing himself in the back to expose his son - he would be exposing himself 10 x worse in the process.
