I am truly trying to understand where the support is coming for politicians who do NOT support deporting illegal immigrant criminals. Where is the money coming from that continues to support such insane policy? The wealthy in MoCo must really, really be benefiting from allowing illegal immigrant criminals to flourish in the county. Not sure what other sane reason there is for this nonsense.

What I don't like is the demonizing of all undocumented immigrants, or all immigrants. What I don't like is using the idea of "violent illegal criminals" to jump to bs statements like "half of all MCPS students are illegals." And I REALLY don't like faux outrage over (<10% of) rapes just to further this anti-immigrant hysteria. THAT'S the bs that needs to stop.

Anyone who commits a crime should be prosecuted for it. If the criminal is an illegal immigrant, fine, deport them.

Both.

We have been at our MCPS ES for the past decade, with 3 kids. And, have seen it change.

Several neighbors have left for Howard or Frederick or Loudon County.

And, there has also been a huge influx of illegal immigrants into our neighborhood. At our schools, I'd say it's not exactly half illegal immigrant families, but definitely more than 25%. We're at a lower-income, nonW school, FWIW. It has definitely had a negative impact on the school, and we've watched it change first-hand.

MoCo is very welcoming to illegal immigrants, so the community has grown. Also, FTR, we have illegal immigrants from all over. Definitely not just Mexico and South America. The lady who works at the Subway in our neighborhood is an illegal immigrant from South Asia.

The Catholic Church faced some major backlash over the priest scandals. So many Catholics left the church.
After any mass shooting, there are major calls to ban guns.
