Does not sounds like DA or ECNL is for you. They all do this and is the point of PT or DP status.

There are multiple players that are on the original roster that played the year before for GFR. My DD friend plays on that team and she will definitely not be on there next year. If they struggled with attracting players as Spirit how again are they attracting players for the 06 team that has had multiple people quit and for the new 07 team as this new club with GFR running the operations. All these years and they could not produce one quality team so how is that management group going to operate a successful DA?

+1
Primary reason for player departures will not change with new name.

Some of the players who departed weren't as good as they thought. Others who left weren't ready for that level of play. I'd say these are valid reasons for people leaving any elite team, not just this one.

This is actually comical that you think they all left because they were not good enough. How about they left because they lost all of their games, the majority by 6+ goals. The majority of the 06 team is made up of players who cannot play at this level which is why they are losing so badly.

Do you think they lost all those games AND where good enough?

No, he didn’t because he made the contradiction in his own statement. LOL. We’ll have to see rosters and results for next to see who stayed, who left (either by choice or was let go), and the results.

I only have one question about your comment, how do you know it was a man?

OK--it (vs. he) didn't. Feel better?

Those who care about the pronoun used in replies should sign their posts with their names, and gender if the name is indeterminate. Problem solved.

LOL. So they are good enough but cannot play at this level.

You may both be right. What you are both saying is not mutually exclusive.

No. Very high.

Beware of clubs that publish their "training" prices. ECNL or DA are expensive options. A club could say $2800 for training but leave out additional expenses. It is all how the fees are itemized.

Winter training is usually extra, futsal is usually extra. The issue is how mandatory they are. Could you tell your ECNL or DA club you are not participating in futsal or winter strength and conditioning? Sure, will they like it? Who knows.

But other extras like video and the subscriptions that go along with video hosting etc. Clubs might use Youtube but the filming wasn't free and will be passed on. In the case of DA, filming games is mandatory. ECNL, filming isn't mandatory but a club may provide filming.

If your club uses any metric software tracking the cost of hardware and software will be passed on.

Now we get to travel. How does each club handle it? Some will collect travel money up front or installments so that teams travel together. Others may leave all travel planning up to the parents. Most will provide a mix of both. Clubs don't profit on travel but HOW the club travels can have a significant impact on your bottom line out the door bill.

Some teams travel to more events than others. Some teams may add a European destination. The one constant and guarantee is that travel is almost NEVER less than the training fee though.

This was a problem with Spirit as well to a degree however it seems Metro United is making an attempt to be as transparent as possible:
FT Player Cost: $3,600

Includes: Equipment, Athletic Trainers, Video, Coaching, Player Registration, Administration and Facilities/ Fields.
Does not include: Uniform & Travel

Is there an extra fee for winter training?

No, built into cost.
Plan is futsal with some SAQ and strength training

The cost is claimed to cover winter training and summer.

It does not cover travel or uniforms.

So, filming, futsal etc are all rolled into the $3600.

The draw Spirit had was the NWSL team. Now it’s gone. How is this metro United thing supposed to succeed? What is the draw for a current DA/ECNL kid from a good program? Play for the same coaches that couldn’t get it done the last 2 years?
