Wait, WHAT?!? Please name one national chain restaurant in Del Ray. The chain shops and restaurants are in Old Town, not Del Ray.

Bagel Uprising (the 'Commie Bagels') was a farmers market stand, and then a pop-up shop while Dairy Godmother was closed for the winter. The guy who owns it started out by making bagels in his kitchen, and it expanded from there. About as far from a 'chain' as you can get.

Same owner as the coffee place next to it?

I probably wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't for this thread. The tons are more subtle - oranges and browns, and it's clearly a bagel. I like it.

The red fist is in your face, unless you close your eyes.

I have long believed that bagels with untraditional ingredients were a sign of late capitalist decadence. I guess I am sympathetic to their cause. "You have nothing to lose but cranberry jalapeno!"

I am a neighbor who is 1. a huge fan of their delicious bagels and 2. able to differentiate between a bagel shop sign and communist propaganda
