CONGRATS to all!

I had my first at 38 and my second at 40. Each time conceived the first month.

Your experience with be your own. You won't know until you try. I ignored stats throughout my AMA pregnancies.

I had children at age 37 and 42, both conceived naturally. It can happen.

Had my first at 36 with the help of IVF. Had my second at 38.5, conceived between the removal of my IUD, before my next period ever came. It was a crazy surprise after a year of trying followed my a year of testing, 3 IUIs and 1 IVF for my first.

We were using condoms. There was one night that we were drinking and we forgot. ONE night! ONE single night that we risked it. Apparently, that’s all it takes because I missed my period and there’s a positive pregnancy test in my bathroom.

of course it only takes one night/one time having sex to get pregnant. How many did you think it should take??

Don’t be insensitive.

It’s not insensitive to point out that it only takes 1 time to get pregnant.

You just don't know as a woman. I don't live with my husband and got pregnant first month of trying, miscarried and got pregnant immediately again after that at 34. So I'm not someone who can take birth control casually.

Pregnant within two months of stopping birth control at 36 and 39. Kids are 5 and 8 now and doing great!

Noooooooo

This happens to women in their 40s more often than you’d think!

I am desperately trying to not be someone who had babies in 3 different decades

I did that, and I love it but I do see the humor in it. All conceived naturally. The 3rd decade is currently playing with stuffed animals in the living room.

If you did it on purpose, more power to you. I had my first at 28, my second at 37 (we had planned a gap, but secondary infertility made it much bigger than planned). Our second was a long awaited happy surprise. But currently, I am 42 with a teen and a 5 year old. Just had my second mirena placed and have no intention of a third child ever.

Well, considering all the people freaking out about declining fertility and over 35 being a geriatric pregnancy, I thought it would take at least a few months of trying and timing sex. I kind of thought maybe one benefit of being “old” is that I wouldn’t have to worry about pregnancy as much.

In our case, it wasn’t the end of the world. We had been debating having a third for months but weren’t 100% there. Our drunk night made the decision for us.

It’s 35, not 30.
