You can walk to the metro from the neighborhood and its close to 495. There's a nice MOM's in the neighborhood too that you can walk to.
There’s been talk of closing down the college park metro station.
Where did you see that?
The only discussion I have seen was part of WMATA's threats to get more money because of low ridership during the pandemic. If anything, it seems like College Park is adding density, though it seems most of that is targeted toward "luxury" apartments for students?

That drives people to the relatively affordable parochial schools and sucks any momentum out of middle school options. Similar to the charter options in dc. It also means you loose some community. Ans people move too.
This is completely true. My kid is in the TAG middle school and it is fantastic but not all kids are TAG. The county is building 5 new middle schools in the next 5 years and I hope that has some positive impact.
I am actually ok with the high school options. ERHS is good but the IB programs are improving a lot, the 3P program at Flowers is very good, the STEM program at DuVual, the Middle College Program, Performing Arts at Suitland etc.

Shocked at high or low price? University Park, DCUM, could be either.
