Quibble (well more than a quibble really) The City of Alexandria is much more than Old Town. Our incoming Mayor (with kids in public school!) lives in Del Ray, our outgoing Mayor lives in Park Fairfax.

What's the point of discussing anything after that? Who willingly sends their kids to an unaccredited school? I'd be mortified to send my kid there.

And pp, I hear you about the contradictions in Alexandria. On the one hand, it can be really diverse and nurturing. On the other hand, there are definitely snobs around here.

Personally, my ds is 4 and at a private preschool in Old Town since as we all know there is no public preschool in Alexandria. On the whole, the other families aren't what I was hoping they'd be - some are, as you said, diverse and nurturing and awesome. Others are just straight up snobs, and the things they care and talk about (including the things they say about other children) at school events make me (insert wide-eyed emoji here).

Looking forward to ACPS next year.
