Subject: Re:PARCC scores came today
Does anybody else remember taking CAT (California Achievement Test) and ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) tests? They're the standardized tests I took growing up. As I recall, rather than testing to see if you knew grade level material, they tested to see what grade level you were at. Rather than having extensive test prep, we were specifically told that there was no way to study for them; we should just relax and do our best.

That's really strange! I'm guessing error somewhere. Is the breakdown (arrow assessment) the same?

To the exact number? Very odd given the huge range in possible scores. Sounds like a good example for a twins study

What are the odds that my twins (one much stronger in math; the other stronger in Reading/Writing) got the exact same scores in both PARCC tests? I am half wondering if someone made some kind of error.

Also have a rising 6th grader in Churchill cluster - DD hit high 5s in both. May be one of the top scores in county, from what I have heard from friends and the school admins.

I received one but not the other from a B-CC feeder school. The one I did receive was last Saturday so I am not sure how they are sending them out.
