This is what drives me insane about these discussions. I have kids in HS. I get word of mouth information from my own children and their friends. The gang members don't hide it - most of the kids know.

If there is a presence at your neighborhood school, and it's at mine, and many others have said it's at theirs, and it's at every FCPS and MCPS school that I have friends or family whose kids attend....then it just might be an actual problem.

Here is a story about the specific murder I spoke about earlier. The murderer went to Fairfax HS and killed a student from Centreville HS. They say they don't know if it's gang-related yet, but my child knows of this boy and he talked about being in MS-13. Everyone knew it. He also has an ICE detainer on him. It's easy to figure out, based on how spun up you and others get at the thought of it, why they are so hesitant to call it what it is.
