Putin is helping Russia? Y'all are deluded, they've gotten to where they are due to grit, organization, playing to their strengths, and an underwhelming Spanish team. They were one of the lowest ranked teams going into the tournament, they're a great underdog story. Can we just enjoy one of the most exciting World Cups in history and check the political vitriol at the door? We only get this once every 4 years, don't come to a soccer forum to talk politics.

That hasn't been called all World Cup, so at least it's been consistent. And Ramos was fouling one Russian while another Russian fouled Pique, so it kind of off-set.

770 passes, 74% possession, and Spain did absolutely nothing with it. Worthless, timid, unimaginative play. They had to know Russia would park the bus, so that was their only strategy? It was like they only figured out they could try to make runs forward around the second half of extra time. Russia are a bad team, but Spain played right into their hands and didn't deserve to win with that game plan.
