Yeah, but a lot of people in DC are also paying off massive student loans and/or maxing out their retirement accounts. Trade-offs.
I'm very familiar with Angelenos needing to have the nicest car and neglecting everything else in their life.

Same here, only one white and one black. We hate minivans, have two kids in car seats, two large dogs and in-laws that visit from the west coast and NE for numerous weeks out of the year... so we wanted a three row SUV, and the full size simply offers more space (in general but especially on family road trips)... People can hate on us all they want frankly, and no we don't care whether someone thinks we "made it"... which seems more like their own insecurities showing, but whatever

Yes, my four year old Tesla has experienced no battery degradation and likely will experience very little over the life span of the vehicle, but you know more than Tesla engineers and people who actually own and operate the car on a daily basis. Sure.

Who knows. That's the whole point. Judging someone because they drive a car is very silly.
I’m late to the party, but it’s super easy to haul kids around in our Tesla. We got it because we needed a bigger car and we do care about the environment. That’s not the only reason but it absolutely was a major consideration
