Subject: AAP Letter today?
The testers make sure the child hasn’t already taken, or prepped for the test being administered. If they suspect it, they can switch to a different test.

That's the wrong way to look at it.
DRA is included in the packet and is a part of the decision.

Do not blame on prepping or not. We didn't prep it is IQ test. If your child deserve it will get in. Both our kids in aap. No prep. I only filled the question form from parents.

But what is point to apply for middle school? He can register for any courses he wants, yes? What is the advantage of AAP designation in middle school?
You can appeal this year and apply every year. Also, in middle school there are AAP English, science, and social studies classes which are probably similar to honors but still different classes.
You cannot register for whatever courses you want in middle school.

Regardless of the GBRS, appeal if the WISC is high. A high WISC can override even a really low GBRS.

There are no group tests until fall. You’ll have to do an individual test for your child. FCPS lists the ones they accept, like WISC V, Stanford Binet, etc.

I agree. I'd call GMU for individual test if GBRS higher than 10. A friend of mine's daughter was accepted a few years ago with GBRS of 11.
