Asylum seekers have been determined to be allowed to stay due to humanitarian issues. It is an immigration status that arose as a result of WWII.

They are also as a group put far more back into the country than they take. And they are required to pay back all kinds of stuff.

Refugees are not asylum seekers. Although have similar ROI for the country.

You have to be physically present in the US in order to apply for asylum.

Get outside the beltway and out of this area. I can't vouch for every housing program or benefit program in the country. But that misses the point - those asserting rights for refugees to COME here may or MAY NOT believe they should get any govt benefits - the mere fact of wanting them admitted does not mean you need to be prepared to host them personally in your home.

The Mexican Government moved in today and is shutting it down. A few (pregnant women were mentioned) will get 30 day or 7 month visa's, the rest are being deported back out of the country, I wish we could move that fast.
