Basically, then, everyone is sleazy. Someone who is about 15 years younger is young enough to be your child. By your standard a 50 year old who fantasizes about someone in their 30s is "sleazy."

All women (and men) want someone who is better looking, wealthier, higher status, and/or younger. But they are limited to whatever they can actually get. Anyone with half-a-brain knows that he or she is nothing more than the best that their partner could do. If their partner could have "done better," they would have done better when they had the chance. Only children believe in "the one" and "finding their soulmate."

I am 55. I know any woman in their 20's (or even 30's) is probably more interest in my wallet than me.

I can buy nicer gifts, take her to nicer places than people in her age group.

Woman my age are more interested in me. That makes them more attractive than a wrinkle free girl (and I mean girl) who is basically whoring herself. Realistically, I can go to NV and a brothel if I want to do a 20 yo.

But, instead, I want to be with someone who wants to be with me. So I date people of my generation.

Make your own money, live your own life, have fun with people young enough that they have no real expectations of you.

Well enough to have no problem dating women in their 40s. Barely a wrinkle in my face, and just a bit of grey. Unlike most women in their 50s. Sorry, I know how it sounds but I'm just answering the question honestly.


To be fair, most men in their 50s don't look good either, especially white men.

Uh, how often do you talk about that ancient history with women your own age? If you do, that - and not their age - is the reason their vaginas are dry and they avoid intercourse with you.

I'm in my mid 50s, and I find that the key to an enjoyable conversation with a woman of any age - and more importantly, a conversation that leads to sex - is to shut up and let them talk. Surely you have learned by now to nod, smile, and feign interest in their incessant senseless prattle while you think about how they'll look when they're naked.

haha you know what? A lot of us women feel this way about our 50-something husbands, too. I think it's a reasonable approach to the sex life for older couples in general. We don't keep our mouths shut, though, because we have amazing oral skills and we also like to chat and laugh afterwards.

1. I do NOT qualify. No woman dates me for my money. I can pay my own way and I'm an old school gentleman where I always pay for us if we go out to the point of insisting. But there is no payoff here if she is looking at the long game.

2. Not very fit but fitter than most men at my HS reunion. That's a pretty low bar. I'm fit enough to do anything a younger woman wants to do, including dance all night or go on a strenuous hike the next day. Not tall either, just shy of 5'10"

3. Desperate for what? A good relationship? Trust me, a lot of women are desperate for a good relationship with a decent man who can keep up with her in bed and out. A lot of woman prefer older men and some always have. Others have come to that preference by being disappointed in the men their age while finding what they want in an older man. It's not my job to convince a younger woman that she should date me. If my age is a turn-off, I don't want to be with her. And I've said, the pool of women in their 40s who would date a man my age, considering 1. & 2. is much smaller than women closer to my age. But it's large enough that I've done well and even dated a few women who were even younger than their 40s. But 30s is not my target age at all. We have to at least like most of each other's music and being younger than my children does feel strange.
