I honestly believe you should tell your friend. They probably grew up in a very privileged circle and their friends/relatives never had to face the same dangers.

It’s amzing what happens when things “get personal” for many conservatives. For example, when their son comes out as gay and Republican politicians reverse course on their gay marriage opposition. Perhaps this could be a learning moment for your friend.

My friend works at a morally questionable company. He husband is disabled, she was fired and it was the best job she was offered. She hates it but it keeps her family afloat. I don’t judge.

I am friends with someone who works with crazy Right Wing Nuts. I am super liberal. We just avoid all political discussions. People are allowed to have different views and morals, correct? If they are still nice people who just make some questionable career decisions, I can live with it. I am sure they feel the same about me. I am a “globalist” in their eyes since I work for an international aid org.
