Thanks. Do you also happen to know why the CogAT has more weight?

I know the Cogat is not an IQ test, but I thought it was supposed to generally approximate one. Are you saying it in no way approximates an IQ test?

Sure, but WISC VCI should be very similar to CogAT verbal. When all signs except CogAT verbal point to a child being well above average in language arts abilities, I tend to believe those over the CogAT verbal.
WISC and CogAT verbal are very different tests and not directly comparable.
What exactly does CogAT verbal measure then, and why is it given any credence? If it doesn't correlate strongly with actual verbal IQ (WISC VCI), and likewise doesn't correlate strongly with language arts achievement (iready, DRA), then how is it even relevant for AAP? I would hope the committee overlooks my kid's barely above average CogAT verbal in favor of his WISC VCI in the 120s and his above grade level achievement tests. At least the quantitative and nonverbal CogAT scores were very consistent with the IQ and achievement testing for my kid.

22030 also, and both the cogat scores and in-pool letter were sent home yesterday for my child.
