This is great - a DCUM intervention that succeeded. Good for you OP. We have every one of us experienced rejection like you, and many of us brought it on like you did. It takes real strength to change your mind as you did, and that strength will see you through the healing process however long it takes.

Life is not Sleepless in Seattle. Assuming OP is the normal one, she should have some pride and self respect - not to mention respect for his decision - and move along. NP here, I read through this entire thread. Fascinating.

OP - best of luck on your future endeavors with mental health. From personal experience, I can share that life gets much easier once you've found and sustain the right treatment. Remember this moment. In the future, when you've found a partner and have settled down, life will become crazy again. You have to remember that you cannot be your best self or a decent partner without whatever treatment works. I hope that makes sense. In the past DH and I experience lows in our marriage, I cannot ignore the fact that it's also when I am off my medication. He almost left me one for it (when we were young and dating). Guys don't want drama. People who are managing a mental health issue don't need men who want drama.

OP, I'm rooting for you and am happy to see this update. I'm sorry you're struggling with your mental and sorry people shamed you or were nasty, but this outcome is for the best. Focus on yourself.
