Subject: my dad hit my 12-year old
I was put in a similar situation as a kid with a relative I was often sent to visit. OP, I'm sorry to say that I bet 5he lessons your son takes away from your decision to delay removing him from the situation likely won't be ones you wanted for him and probably won't be worth any cost savings.

OP just responded. She’s waiting until Saturday. Until then, she is in contact with her son by phone.
Her father is withholding food from her son because he told that he hit him. He could keep hitting him and keep withholding food. OP is a terrible parent for putting her son in this situation. What was OP thinking? What a terrible memory for this poor kid to have for his Christmas and trust me gifts won't erase this memory. Terrible.
