And when does this become outright treason? This is insane. Yes, maybe Donald Trump is right - he can murder someone on 5th Avenue and no one will care.
How do we hold legislators responsible? Our our judicial and law enforcement, for that matter? Where are the checks and balances?

Agree. Encourage your friends in states with competitive elections to vote against the R, donate money wherever you can to the competitive D. Let's win back the House in 2018. That's the first step to taking back our country and getting these dirtbags out of the White House.
Fucking gerrymandering is going to make this next to impossible. Anyone that says otherwise is a Pollyanna.
FYI
With gerrymandering, demographic concentration, etc, there are LOTS of House districts that the GOP won by 6% or less. Enough to flip the House. In the sequence of special elections this year, the Dem shift has been, you guessed it, 5 to 7%. And the Dem advantage on the generic ballot question.
Kind of off-topic, but the Democrats have out-performed the generic ballot in the special elections.

The fact that he just sat on this until it was exposed is telling. A normal, rational person would immediately notify the authorities once they put 2 + 2 together.
Or maybe, just maybe, 2+2 was the plan all along. The Trump organization seems devoid of moral values. Everything is subordinate to winning. Trumpmis like the NYC version of Ricky Bobby. If the Russians made an offer to help, why not accept the offer and close the deal? Winning.
It's this x100000000. Most of us think / hope that Trump and his circle (and the GOP for that matter) have some conscience and moral center. They don't. Watching Kelly Ann Conway today on CNN and she is the ultimate liar and distorter - same with Priebus yesterday.
There is nothing that makes these people move except power and more power. Laws are an inconvenience to them, treason is just the price of playing the game. Seriously, that's how these people think. They do not care. Where are the patriots in our government? Where are the real leaders?
They think they are above the law - and apparently they are right. Seeing ZERO action from anyone with the power to do anything. What a sad time for our once great country. MAGA indeed.

Don Jr. joined this meeting thinking he could get dirt on Clinton - didn't work out that way - but both of his statements confirm that he and others joined that meeting thinking that's what they'd get from this lawyer.
From the Russian point of view, just the fact that the meeting took place was the signal, not whatever was said in it. The meeting signaled a willingness of the Trump campaign to cut a deal, eased sanctions in exchange for useful information on Hillary. The Trump campaign sent the message and the Russians got the message. Any legitimate campaign, upon being offered dirt on a political opponent by a foreign government, would have immediately called the FBI. Instead, the Trump gang all seemed to forget such a meeting happened and the Russians followed along. These guys are crooked. Kushner' security clearance should be yanked forthwith.
Maybe Don Senior's concern over the legitimacy over his election is well founded. Its becoming quite possible the Russians did more than we know at this point.

I mean, how much more do we need?
The break-in at the Watergate (the second one, the one that got noticed) was in June 1972. Nixon resigned in August 1974.
There was also no internet or 24 hours news cycle then.
