I agree. Can I say I'm low keyed annoyed with Peter right now. I think I read somewhere that he has applied several times to be the bachelor or something like that so he can't be shocked that the show has a person making up their mind within 8-9 weeks to get engaged. I would be annoyed with him even if the Bachelorette were white, sort of on behalf of every woman that had the guy string her along and missed out on being able to meet someone that wanted to marry and start a family with her. As a black woman that has seen my non-black friends have an easier time of finding love and marriage, I am very conscious of message it sends for the first black bachelorette - on her game, beautiful, smart, fun etc., to be the first and only bachelorette NOT to get an engagement at the end and have her do all the bending/concessions for Peter to maybe think about making a commitment someday, maybe, if his walls come down.... oh nooooo.

Eric went to college, moved cross country, and is a motivational speaker.

I think she'll wind up getting hurt by Peter and have MIL problems if she chooses Bryan.

Rachel is 31. Eric is 29. Dean is 26.

+1 She's awesome and hopefully is doing a great acting job bc Eric is the only one who matches her in terms of sincerity. But he isn't a good fit to be her husband. He's a great guy and hopefully he'll find a great woman outside of Bachelor World. Peter is not that into her or the process and Bryan is too into both.

Re: Eric, I feel like Rachel has to mother him in everything -- like he hasn't had enough life experiences to "be the man" in the relationship. She has to be the one who teaches him things and explains things and shows him life. I don't feel like he brings an equal level of knowledge/experience/mastery to the relationship.

Women want a man who, at times, takes care of them and knows how to manage life. Women don't want to have to be "in charge" of everything ALL THE TIME. Eric is just a newbie when it comes to so many things... I think Rachel wants a man who isn't just learning how to go about life. Confidence that comes from experience is sexy.

I don't think she's being spoiled. Hasn't every other bachelorette gotten a proposal? He went on a show where the winner gets to propose and now he's like "we, umm, idk." Also apparently he wrote in his hs yearbook he wanted to be the bachelor in the future. Whole thing just screams of angling to be the first runner up.

Eric has really grown on me. He seems so sweet. But I agree that he's probably not her person for this stage of life. Also don't know how well he would fit into her family.

Eric seems like he just wants hugs and snuggles, but I'm afraid she's beyond where he's at. They could be tricking us into thinking it's Bryan. If he doesn't win, I'd feel a little bad for him since he's seemed like the front runner the whole time. She has more of a mental connection with Peter but she's being a little spoiled wanting a proposal from him.

Yeah, I think the Peter thing is a distraction - my money is on Peter (please no spoilers if you read Reality Steve).

Did you all catch Peter's dig at Bryan? He was saying it's no secret he isn't Bryan's biggest fan, and that he's very "Miami" and Miami has lots of fake boobs, fake butts, and fake CHEEKS. Direct hit!

I wonder if Peter's not being ready is a red herring though.
